Dinosaur Coloring Page

Run for cover! It’s a dinosaur! Well, a dinosaur coloring page anyway. And it’s really not scary at all!

Let’s Color the Dinosaur Coloring Sheet

There are scary dinosaurs and then there is this dinosaur coloring page. It has to be one of the cutest dinos around with its shy little smile and adorable little cheeks. What kind of dinosaur it is we have absolutely no idea but we know it’s a dinosaur and we know you can color it, so there’s that.

How to Use the Dinosaur Coloring Page

There are a lot of ways to use the dinosaur coloring page but here are some of our favorites:

  • Use the coloring sheet when doing a unit study on dinosaurs. If your kids are fascinated with dinosaurs a unit study is one of the easiest ways to let them learn all about them without going crazy.
  • Use the coloring page as part of your alphabet study. It’s perfect for the letter D and can be added to your alphabet coloring fun.
  • The dinosaur coloring sheet can be used as a writing prompt! What kind of dinosaur is it? What’s it doing? Write a bio for it. (Maybe it’s the first opera singing dinosaur!)
  • Color it while watching a dinosaur video or something like The Land Before Time.
  • Color it after reading a book about dinosaurs.

What to Use with This Coloring Page

Just like dinosaurs are unique, so too are the people who like to color them. That’s why we encourage you to use all sorts of coloring utensils to turn your dinosaur coloring sheet into a one of a kind creation! There’s nothing prehistoric about your creativity!

While we encourage you to use the coloring tools that you like best, here are some of our favorites and the ones that we used to color in our own dinosaur coloring page.

  • Colored Pencils – We gravitated toward colored pencils with this coloring page because we wanted to work on shading. It may or may not have turned out well but it certainly wasn’t the dino’s fault.
  • Crayons – Why yes, yes we did color this with crayons while watching Jurassic Park. And yes, yes this dino is much friendlier than that bunch!
